everyone seems to think that I think the 90s was a cool decade. I dont know, it might have been. 80s was snazzy too.
all time favourite, the 20s. no, not because of gatsby - because of the music. and the smoking.

Iphone Cases
I love blackberry, or more accurately I love black berry
messenger. Instant people contacting
gratification. ‘Hey how you’ becomes relatively normal as a message. What’s so
weird is that no one calls ‘Hey how are you’ anymore.
I tried that with my mom the other day, and her suspicion face
was switched on, and then drugs. As if my calling to ask how she was, meant I was
in drug trouble. Casual mother-20-year-old-daughter trust right there.
But what blackberries don’t have is looking good in a case.
As awesome as bbm is, snazz cases are better. Yes, I was one of those people
who got an iphone because iphone. Also, these apps are pretty cool.
Iphone cases are interesting, sociologically. If you think
about it, what about your cellphone must say something about you? So, having a
snazzy case that communicates ‘you’ is a requirement when you get an iphone, not
any cellphone but an iphone. Iphone cases are less about protecting your phone
(gee, forgot that’s what they were for) and more about communicating your ‘flair’.

| if you haven't seen 'Office Space' please do. |
I got my cases before I got the phone. In fact, I had 2 cases before having an iphone was even a foreseeable thing. And adding to that, they were for a previous version when I eventually did get one. Imagine the hoarder guilt on that.
There are even websites that allow you to make your own case.
As awesome as Iphone cases are, I’m looking at mine now (it’s
in a shape of a cat, even with ears. Katja said it looked like a taser, in fact
we devised how making it a taser was possible. Decided battery life would be a
problem) and I’m thinking that I should just take the damn thing off.
Ha, sike! Having a cat as a phone is pretty sweet.
Stay interested, stay snazzy.

Ford Thunderbird 1965
Wait, what? A girl who has a penchant for cars? How
outlandish!
But here’s the thing, I don’t. Not really. I just want this car.
I spent today trying to decide on what I should write my
first post about. It’s a big deal, it’s my first post. So, it should be a big
deal. The biggest. I shouldn’t be writing about my ‘sort of’ love for retro
cars. But that’s just it, maybe this should be the most random of all posts.
Therefore cars.
What makes this post even more random is I don’t drive. And
Emma’s favourite, or least favourite, topic is Kim’s driving – which is not
going anywhere.

The Ford Thunderbird, or T-bird, is Brad Pitt’s car if he
were a business man from the 50s with a sporty wife and golden retriever. Or, If
chino wearing brad isn’t your thing, it’s a car for the 90s snakeskin skirt
queen with a penchant for long nails and Marlboros.
It was manufactured by the Ford Motor Company in the United States with over eleven model generations from
1955 through 2005. When introduced, it created the market niche eventually
known as the personal luxury car.
Like, the first ever BMW or Mercedes car for the 50s. The type of car which wasn’t so expensive you had a chauffeur but not too cheap to take to the casinos. Obviously it was a car that said the owner has money, but they're not the big deal yet so ‘I still drive myself and I take my convertible to walk my dog in Miami’. Isn’t that the ultimate?
The model that’s my favourite is the 1965 Thunderbird. When this came out it was restyled in favour of a more squared-off appearance, which you could see when viewing the car from the side or rear. Even though it was the last year of the generation, 1965 saw a stylistic revision for the Thunderbird highlighted by a new egg-crate style grille with a large Thunderbird emblem at its centre. Nothing like an emblem to say ‘legit’
I love this car, I want
this car. And even though it is as random as me getting a driver’s license,
it’s definitely deserving of a space in my 99 things.
And thanks Geoff for the
getting me onto cars at 11pm at night, while talking about drive-ins and girls
in roller skates. You’re the best
